Ewing sarcoma is a rare type of cancerous tumor that forms in the bones or soft tissues surrounding the bones. It most commonly affects children and young adults, and survival rates are as high as 80 percent when it has not spread. Treatments include surgery to remove the tumor or affected extremity (amputation), chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
