10 Products That Help Relieve My Fibromyalgia Symptoms
Fibromyalgia is a pain, no doubt about it. I have accepted that I will probably be in a constant state of pain for the rest of my life. Hope is not lost, however. There are certainly things I can do to help manage my symptoms.

Here are 10 products that have actually provided some relief for me. If you’re lucky, you’ll find something that works for you.
1. Yu Yee oil.
This oil is generally used for pain relief. My sister gave this to me as a Christmas present. Honestly, this is one of the most thoughtful and useful gifts I’ve ever received. I highly recommend this product! It has a sweet peppermint scent, and a very soothing sensation when applied to the skin. Not only does it work, it’s also affordable and comes in a very cute bottle. To apply it, you just dab it on from the bottle. It is very comfortable to wear.
2. Eucalyptus spray.
This is similar to the Yu Yee oil, only in spray form and smells like eucalyptus. It can be used for sore or aching muscles. When applied to the skin, it has a warm soothing sensation. This spray can also be used as a surface spray for cleaning, so it’s a very useful household product.
3. Cushion massager.
I use my cushion massager every single day, whenever I sit down on the couch to relax. It really helps with my sore back or aching legs. I use it anywhere I want, and even take it with me when I travel. It has three settings including massage, vibration and heat.
I have compression bandages for my knees, wrists, and elbows. I don’t usually wear them all at once, but on really bad days I have. Sometimes I only need to wear one for my knee, for example. I got them from the local chemist. They really help on those rainy days when your joints are aching like they’ve never ached before.
5. Vibration plate.
This product is something you would usually see advertised on TV. Basically, you stand on it, and it vibrates. It’s meant to be a form of exercise. It has different programs and speed settings. The intensity of the ‘workout’ will depend on where you place your feet. It varies from walking, jogging to running. Surprisingly, this really helps with my aching legs. It helps to improve my circulation, as well. I highly recommend this product as it helps immensely! I know a few people who have had similar results! You can stand on it while watching TV. It’s great for people who don’t have the energy to exercise.
6. Foot spa.
Similar to the vibration plate, this product also helps boost my circulation. It’s really great when I’m sitting on the couch watching a movie. Usually I have to elevate my legs to stop them from swelling and aching, so this product has been a game changer. You can massage your feet with minimal effort. The foot spa and cushion massager make a great combination when you’re sitting on the couch. Don’t forget the cup of tea! Ultimate relaxation.
7. Skechers shoes.
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about these shoes. Now I know why. It’s like walking on clouds! I originally bought them when I started working in hospitality. I continue to wear them very frequently. Highly recommend this brand, especially if you spend a lot of time on your feet! They are a bit pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for.
8. Cane.
I was debating whether or not I should get one for a while. Originally, I joked about it, but I was half serious. When you’re in your early 20s it can be hard to justify your reasons for needing a cane. In the end I decided to just get one, because if I was thinking about it already then it was only a matter of time. I named my cane Hugo. He protects me in the supermarket when the sensory overload kicks in. He helps carry my weight when I’m walking all day.
9. Sun shades.
The sun is one of my worst triggers. I almost feel like a vampire, hissing when the sun shines in my face. It can be tricky to avoid the sun when you’re in the car, because there are windows surrounding you. I don’t wear hats a lot, either. Wearing hats usually gives me headaches. Instead, I got a couple of sun shades to put on the windows surrounding me. I double that with sunglasses and bam! Probably just avoided a nasty headache.
10. Massage ball.
This ball can be used to give yourself a massage wherever you are. Personally, I find it feels great on my face when I have a headache. I eat some food, take some painkillers, drink some water and then relax while simultaneously massaging my forehead with this massage ball. It’s great for temporary pain relief! It’s small enough to take with you anywhere!
I received some of these amazing products as gifts, which was wonderful because I wasn’t financially prepared to buy them myself. If you’re struggling for present ideas, maybe these can help you out! I am very grateful to have all of these products. Maybe one day there will be a cure, but for now, I’ll manage my symptoms as best I can. That’s all I can do.
MORE ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA:
Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness with three main symptoms — widespread pain, chronic fatigue and cognitive trouble. Fibromyalgia is a complicated illness that’s not well understood. In the past, it was mischaracterized as a mental health disorder. Even today, some doctors wave off fibro symptoms as being “all in your head.” This isn’t the case.
