Remember handing out Valentine’s Day cards to all of your classmates in school? Remember picking out an extra special one for your crush? Maybe you continue this tradition as an adult and send them out to all your loved ones, not just significant others.

This year, we want to give our community’s kids (and adults!) printable valentines so they can bring special cards in for their classmates, loved ones and friends, instead of going to the store to buy cards or ordering packs online.

Most valentines in stores feature cute cartoons, pictures and messages of adoration — but they rarely feature people of different abilities. We want to create more inclusive Valentine’s Day cards — ones that feature, for example, people using sign language, kids with mobility aids, people of all abilities, colors and backgrounds, as well as messages of love and acceptance. This way, kids giving out cards and kids receiving cards can potentially see a bit of themselves in the designs.

We want to feature YOUR art on these cards.

If you’d like a chance for your art to be featured on a Mighty Valentine, you have two ways of submitting.

  1. Download our free iPhone app if you don’t have it already, and post a Thought with your artwork. Use the hashtag #MightyCards so we can easily find it, and include how you’d like your artwork to be credited. If you want, tell us the inspiration behind your card when you post the Thought!
  2. If you don’t have an iPhone, submit your artwork with this form

We drew an example below to give you some inspiration. If you’d like your art to be considered to be featured on a Mighty card, please submit by February 7.

Depending on how many submissions we get, we may not be able to feature every submission on a printable card, however, we will be sharing these across social media, in our newsletters and on The Mighty. We will always credit you when we do this.

Please note: We will not alter your art without your permission but will add our Mighty logo to the cards they appear on. Again, we will also credit you.

Let’s make this a Valentine’s Day of love, inclusion and acceptance.
