A Heartfelt, High-Five to My Fellow Medical Mamas
You, my dear, are a bad ass!
I see you.
You inspire me!
My wish for you is to one day see yourself the way I see you.
I want you to wake up every day and feel powerful. To feel ready to take on any and everything. You already have.
You are a fighter. Stop doubting what you can do.
Look at what you have done.
I know that some days it hurts. I have been there, I am still there.
I know that it’s not always easy to breathe. In fact, sometimes it’s just plain painful.
I know it isn’t always easy to hope, or even to pray. Sometimes you just go numb.
I know it’s scary and another day is never promised. That, my dear girl, I know well.
So when you need to cry — you cry. Just wipe your face when you’re done.
When you need to run — you run. Feel the wind on your face and breathe life back into those lungs. Just run home when you’re finished.
When you need to fight for your child — fight!
You don’t stop. You don’t rest. You keep pushing.
Because you can, I know you can. You must.
High Five mama! Don’t stop. You have come too far to stop now.
You are light and love, and all the things your child needs.
Don’t forget that, I won’t.
All my love to you.
