#KrabbeDisease
Krabbe disease, also known as globoid cell leukodystrophy, is an inherited, degenerative disorder that impairs the growth and maintenance of nerve cell’s protective coating (myelin) in the brain and nervous system. Signs and symptoms include muscle weakness, irritability, feeding difficulties, fever, stiff posture, and delayed mental and physical development. Onset is commonly within the first 6 months of age, but it can develop in older children and adults. There's no cure for Krabbe disease, and treatment focuses on supportive care.
