Some Days Are Better Than Others, and That’s OK
Some days are better than others. One day you can feel on top of the world. Then, the next day you feel like the world is sitting on your shoulders. Like you’re floating on the water, and next thing you know, you’re 10 feet under trying to catch a breath of fresh air.
Some mornings getting out of bed isn’t hard. Then, there are others when you can barely plant both feet on the ground.
Some mornings when you look in the mirror, you see someone beautiful staring back. Then, there are others when all you can see are flaws.
Some mornings you can feel comfortable in your own clothes. Then, there are others when you don’t feel comfortable in your own skin.
Some mornings a coffee and bagel can get you through the morning. Then, there are others where eating too early makes you sick to your stomach.
Some mornings driving to work with the music jamming makes you feel good. Then, there are others when you can’t focus on anything but the thoughts rushing through your head.
Some days, work and school comes easy to you. Then, there are others when you feel you’re not good enough to understand anything.
Some days, you feel loved and supported by your family, but there are others when you feel like a bother.
Some days, you feel like you have many friends, but there are others when you feel like everyone’s pretending to like you.
Some days you don’t let your mental illness win, but then there are other days when it’s too powerful to be stopped.
Some days, you struggle to realize how important you are. You forget how every morning is a blessing. But you don’t have to look for your flaws in the mirror because you’re beautiful with them. Your clothes weren’t made to hide your skin.
You are not a bother just because you need help. Everyone needs help at some point in their life. Stop thinking about what can go wrong, and think about what could go right. Surround yourself with positive people who make you happy.
I hope you never have to feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders because you deserve to feel on top of the world. I hope you never feel like you’re drowning while everyone around you is living. Surround yourself with things that make you happy and free. Do not be afraid of the days when you feel bad because without them you wouldn’t appreciate the good ones.
