Went to Urgent Care today hoping to get some much needed fluids following a particularly heavy time of the month this week. In addition to having to reexplain my whole condition to more than half of the personnel I encountered, I had to wait over 2 HOURS before the doctor even came to greet me. That facility was absolutely freezing, and then they started administering cold fluids, which naturally chilled my already shivery body to the absolute bone and further triggered my POTS, or possibly angered my #EhlersDanlos . Either way the small bag of fluids I was given just managed to make everything feel 10x’s worse. I struggled to drive the, like 3 miles home, collapsed on the couch, curled into the fetal position, and proceeded to bawl my eyes out. Fast forward through heart palpitations, orthostatic intolerance, and ambulance ride, multiple needle sticks, and about 4-5 hours of waiting, I finally got the fluids I needed. And go figure, I feel like a somewhat functional human being again.... until the next time that is.

Note to self: just go to the Hospital ER in the first place from now on!
