This month my husband and I celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. I wanted to have pictures taken of the two of us, and knowing how important it was to me my husband sweetly agreed. This isn’t exactly the best time of year to schedule an outdoor photo session here, but the weather was just beautiful, and our photographer made us feel comfortable and at ease and took many beautiful pictures of the two of us.

Of all of the wonderful anniversary photos that I love so much the one below is high on the list of my favorites. Somewhere during all my dreaming and planning for our session it dawned on me that I was so focused on wanting to look and feel carefree and “normal” that I could be missing some of the most meaningful displays of true love in this stage of our lives together… I was so glad when our photographer friend assured me she would add in some of those too! In this picture our session was done, posing was over, and we were walking back to our van enjoying conversation between just the two of us. My legs were tired and not working all that well. I never would have made it back to the van on my own with just the cane, and so, like he always does he lent me his arm and slowed his stride to match mine… This picture speaks volumes of where we are at in our journey of life together and of the love shared between us. I am so thankful she caught this moment with her camera and we have this picture to remind us always.
