In an emotional interview on The Graham Norton Show, Johnny Depp opened up about what he called the “darkest period of his life.”
While Depp was working on ‘Sweeney Todd” in 2007, his daughter, Lily-Rose, was hospitalized for kidney failure. According to USA Today, she spent nine days in the hospital.
After experiencing what it’s like to have a child who’s sick, he said visiting hospitals has become more important to him.
“The kids, bless them, they’re so strong,” he said in the interview (below). “But the parents are the ones who are slowly dying. And to be able to bring a smile or a giggle to these people means everything in the world to me.”
