Dr. Simi Rahman & Ted Meyer have teamed up with The Mighty though their collaboration, ARTandMed, by bringing storytelling and lived experience into the ways we talk about healthcare in the US.
Both Simi and Ted are motivated to bridge the divide both of them have experienced in their interactions with the healthcare system. The solutions will require many voices, stories and relationships among the “divide” of doctor-patient.

ARTandMED, is a collaboration of artist, Ted Meyer, and doctor and educator, Simi Rahman. It brings the world of art into medical education. ARTandMED aims to transform the practice of medicine through the programs and workshops, where Simi and Ted combine their individual skill sets in the medical and art fields to create a third way. Ted brings thirty years of professional expertise in studio art, clinical art therapy, arts education, and the unique first-hand insights of a chronic medical patient. Simi has twenty years' experience as a practicing physician and medical educator, training medical students and residents and creating curriculum. They have successfully curated events and programs that deepen the understanding of the illness experience so that students, providers and artists view the patient and the doctor as a complete person.
