To the Man Who Saved My Life When I Was Hospitalized
You took me under your wing,
When I thought I was in hell.
You saved my dying terrified life,
And taught me I could be well.
I don’t remember how you look,
And I don’t even know your name.
I know that you were older than me,
And you helped me play the game.
You told me to use my left hand,
For some reason I still don’t know.
You told me there were lots of Jesuses
You really helped me grow.
I was in a catatonic state
And psychotic beyond belief.
But when you spoke to me,
It gave me some relief.
I think about you all the time,
The man who saved my life.
You still help me feel better,
When I face my strife.
I wish that I could talk to you,
And ask you what was wrong with me.
If you are out there,
Please reach out to me.
