Amy Bleuel created the Semicolon Project in 2013.
The nonprofit aims to encourage, love and inspire those who live with mental health problems.
The project encourages people to draw or tattoo semicolons on themselves as a reminder that their stories aren’t finished yet.
“In literature, an author uses a semicolon to not end a sentence, but to continue on.”
“We see it as you are the author and your life is the sentence. You’re choosing to keep going.”
Tweet: “Your story isn’t over yet. Stay strong ???? #ProjectSemicolon”
“It’s humbling to know that a message you started is resonating with people and so many people are choosing to continue their story because of your efforts.”
“I stand in awe of how big it is. It’s hard to grasp and fully take in because it’s such an amazing thing.”
