Like most of you, I’ve heard it ALL when it comes to coping mechanisms and ideas to help with mental illnesses. Honestly very very few help me or have much effect. So one day I bought a bullet journal, you know the ones with dots instead of the standard notebook lines? I liked it so much and all the things you could do with them that I have now accumulated 10 or so lol. I don’t write in them like a journal though (I have a standard notebook for that) but I use them for several different things. My favorite one I call my “Mental Health” journal where I use it as a mood tracker, I also write down all of my symptoms as with the brain fog it’s hard to remember them all when talking to the doctors. I also have a section where I write down inspirational/motivational quotes, I have a page where I wrote down all the lies depression tells me, another page with all the lies anxiety tells me, a page listing my triggers, a page on what to do if an anxiety or panic attack hits me. There’s so much you can do with it and I glam it up with washi tapes, stickers and stencils and use pretty pens. I’ve also wrote many ideas for self care. Self care on good days and self care for bad days because self care is different depending on how we feel. When I’m having a bad day, I look back through my journal and it honestly helps. You can find bullet journals at Walmart, Dollar General, and Amazon, you can even get them in kits so you have everything you need! If you have any questions about them feel free to ask!! I really hope this helps you as much as it’s helped me!
