Sometimes, the last thing you may feel like doing is talking to people. I empathise having lived with mental illness for 35 years, since 12 years of age. So although I do not know how you are feeling, I can honestly empathise having spent many Christmas' sectioned or as a voluntary patient. You may feel anxious, or overhwelmed, or not very sociable - but connecting with other people, albeit through #TheMighty digitally. This is reciprocal as it helps me too. I am alone, though I have a wonderful dog as my companion. Connecting with others, and talk through those things that are worrying you may be really helpful, sharing whatever it is can help you feel supported, and listened to. Do this particularly at this time of year. Though I appreciate asking for time can feel hard as you may not feel deserving. But in reality you are - you have so much value.
My wish and gift to you would be peace of mind and the ability to give our permission to be kind and gentle towards yourself. It is lovely to have an opportunity like this to connect with others I can relate to albeit from the UK. NO matter the distance there are people willing you well and for your stability. Bless your hearts.
