Updated March, 5, 2020. An earlier version of this article included a job listing for the company Zapier, but it has since been removed at the request of a Zapier representative.

It can be incredibly difficult to manage a full-time job when your chronic illness or disability is a job on its own. I learned this first hand when I was forced to leave my dream job as my treatment for Lyme disease required me to be on an IV for six hours a day, which was not compatible with a traditional 9-5 job. Although my mind and ambition were perfectly intact, the disease prevented me from physically working in an office. I began to worry that there was no place for someone like me in the American workforce. It was not designed for people who live with an illness or disability.

So, I became determined to change that. Last year, I founded Chronically Capable, a platform that connects individuals living with chronic illness and disability to flexible work opportunities. We’ve been in beta since May, but officially launched our platform in late February, and we’re so excited to bring together our community with employers committed to changing the workforce with us.

I encourage you to sign up, create a profile and join us in proving to employers that our community is capable of being instrumental parts of the workforce. Please feel free to reach out anytime, as we’re here to support you in landing your dream job.

On that note, I’d love to share seven remote work opportunities with you:
