#Destiny and Bipolar

I was with a group of friends. We began talking about Destiny. I’ve seen posts on this site and others where people blame abuse, sexual or mental and physical as a cause of their diagnosis of Bipolar. We began to discuss this theory. One friend was sexually abused by a stepfather who is now in prison. Another friend was adopted with her brother from Russia at 5 years of age and suffered terrible abuse in the orphanage but had a loving American home. My other friend is divorced with 2 children from a man who drank used drugs and was violent most of their marriage. My other friend was raised by a loving intact family. No abuse just love respect and kindness. Of the 4 friends only the one who came from the best family had bipolar 2 as do I. Why do the other 3 who have terrible stories do not have bipolar? Of course they struggle with their past demons and all have gone to some form of therapy but they definitely do not suffer from bipolar. Was my friend and I destined to have bipolar? She has no genetic history of bipolar in her family. I do. A grandmother suffered from the disease when little could be done especially in Scotland my country of birth. This is of course just a random study on my part. Nothing scientific just curious about other people who feel that abuse of some form was the underlying cause of their bipolar.
