Check In With Me
17.7K members
#CheckInWithMe is our flagship Mighty program. It started as a single hashtag and has now grown into thousands of members who check in with each other daily (and in turn, ask others to check in on them too!). It embodies everything The Mighty strives to be: a place to show up exactly as you are. This group is an extension of that hashtag. Post about what you’re going through, ask for advice, or post a pep talk that someone else might need to hear. Thank you for living out the #CheckInWithMe promise every single day.

It is also for people who use DBT skills in their lives and find them helpful for managing intense emotions, and other challenges. This group is also for people who have an interest in using DBT skills and would like a safe supportive space to connect with others who are using DBT skills too! Members may have a diagnosis of BPD, or may not. The purpose is connect with others who are passionate and interested in intentionally using the skills in their lives and want to encourage one another to be skillful too. This community offers a supportive validating space to care for one another as we build “ Lives Worth Living” using the skills and techniques in dialectical behaviour therapy. This group is NOT therapy, or intended to replace any medical or psychological treatment, it is simply a place to share DBT tools and celebrate our success in using them.

Grief Isn't Linear
1.5K members
This group is dedicated to Mighties who are at any stage of the grieving process, and have experienced loss in any shape or form (no matter how long ago). Maybe you’ve lost someone you loved, a pet that was your whole world, or are grappling with the absence of the “normal” version of you that used to exist before an illness. All shades of grief — and the roller coaster of feelings that accompany them — are welcome here. We might not be able to make it better, but we can sit with you in the meantime. P.S. Here’s a quote we love from author Nora McInerny about grief: “Time is irrelevant to grief. I cannot tell you that it will feel better or worse as time goes by; I can just tell you that it feels better and worse as time goes by. The only guarantee is that however you feel right now, you will not always feel this way.”

Often I find myself needing to make people understand why I am the way I am. A lot of the time I’ll over share to those I’m close to, which pushed them away. This is a space for those with Quiet BPD to talk, share their stories, and most importantly communicate and validate what they’ve been through. Be excited to share those personal revelations, I want to create a space where those little things we learn along the way are just as big to those we talk to as they are to us. Yes, I want this to be a space where people can come and randomly share a memory they have of childhood, or start speaking about something that’s bothering them out of the blue. I struggle to express my emotions as someone with quiet BPD because I’m so scared of what will happen if I open my mouth. So let’s do that here, so we can communicate and heal without feeling like we are burdening those close to us who really can’t understand how deeply we feel things.

This community requires that if you want to reach out privately to someone it’s okay with that individual.

Support and tips for parents or caregivers of kids and teens with depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. Parenting a child whose mental health isn’t strong is a challenge you can not be prepared for. It can be devastating, lonely, anger inducing, heartbreaking. Abortion Healing
21 members
The stigma around abortions is so hurtful and toxic. People get one for various reasons. It can be medically necessary. It can be a personal necessity (i.e. domestic relationship). Whatever the reason, it is a choice that sticks with you for life. It is a hurricane of emotions, a mountain of grief to carve through and something only people who go through it will understand. I don't see any groups for this topic so I am making one and all are welcome to share their stories and experiences. I want to know how people cope. How people move forward. How people decided. The good, the bad and the messy. Any and all of it that you feel comfortable sharing. There will be no negativity. Thank you!

I often feel like I can't relate to my generation nor have I ever been able to feel that but I noticed that whenever I have been in facilities for adults/hospital settings I am often asked for my age multiple times because they don't believe me-I look younger than I do yet I speak like I've lived decades longer than someone else my age- it's hard to make friends for me because I can't talk about things that other people my age are doing for I'm currently incapable of for my body. I wish it'd allow me- I have a hunger for learning and growth/a thirst for knowledge. I wish I could go to work or college...Maybe one day. For now instead of letting those thoughts bitter me I'd rather create a space for people that I can possibly relate to- a place free of hate and malignant judgment-no ableism,ageism- you know all the isms haha- to those who feel isolated in an advancing technological but at times humanly immoral world- I love too much to not try. Education is Elevation,Knowledge is power.

OCD recovery 💚
10 members
Wether you have OCD, or love someone with OCD… this group is a safe space to ask questions, give advice (if asked), learn about what OCD really is, or the treatment options available for OCD, and more. Please refrain from giving reassurance to others in this group, as reassurance feeds into the disorder and can make their OCD worse in the long run. The gold standard treatment for OCD is ERP therapy (exposure response prevention therapy). I do understand not everyone is ready and/or able to get an ERP therapist or participate in ERP therapy; but please make sure to keep a ERP/recovery mindset when sharing in this group. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about ERP therapy or OCD :)

This group offers a space for those still practicing Covid precautions, or those struggling with chronic ailments or loss amidst the ongoing pandemic, to lament the current reality of organized abandonment. We’ll adopt a leftist, anti-capitalist, de-colonial lens that allows us to touch on a wide variety of topics. We’ll talk about health-related things like disability justice, chronic illness, mental health, and collective care, along with how they intersect with other forms of oppression and resistance around the world. If you think you might be interested, we’d love for you to tell us a bit about yourself and join! We have the message board, and we’ll also host an optional monthly reading group on Zoom to keep the conversation going. Time commitment for the meeting is about 2 hours a month (1 for reading and 1 for meeting), but even those who didn’t do the reading are welcome to attend. We’ll send the login info, and hope to see you there! In solidarity, Collective Care Leadership

Sᴇʟғ - Hᴀʀᴍ; Individuals might be doing it because they don't have the words to explain what they're experiencing. But it's important you know that you can support them. Having open honest discussions really does help everyone involved. Mental health illnesses untreated can, unfortunately, re occurre, having huge impacts on everyones mental wellbeing surrounding the sufferer. Having the correct resources available to them, that are relevant locally and can be useful and enables signposting. It is really important and beneficial in Prevention, Social Policy issues which are major contributors to everyone’s overall wellbeing include but not exclusively; Social Isolation and Loneliness . Surviving the loss of someone you loved to suicide isn’t a badge we wear with pride, its something most people try really hard to keep locked up, inside their own minds. Feelings of guilt and grief, it can be very consuming and we all need time to heal, learn and educate ourselves

FND is still fairly new and as such, research is limited! This group is for people diagnosed with this condition to learn more and limit the isolation. Often this condition dictionary has been misdiagnosed in the past as conversion disorder, hiwever is essentially a brain disorder. The symptoms and/or treatment options mimic parkinsons, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and even epilepsy, hence why these topics have been linked.

Throughout my career as a social worker, I have worked with countless caregivers. I have come to intimately know the compassion, strength, and challenges caregivers live with every day. I have helped caregivers face loneliness, worries, fears, and the heartwarming experiences they face on their caregiver path. My passion for helping caregivers goes back even further to the years I watched my father struggle with these same challenges when he was a caregiver for my mother and younger brother. Throughout my career as a licensed therapist, I heard too many stories with caregivers telling me "I don't know what to do" or “No one seems to get it!” So, I have created this safe space for caregivers to gather together and form a unique community of support. You can access support from the comfort of your home without having to search all over the internet or your local community. I know your time is valuable and your days don’t usually run on your schedule.

Being a Christian in a worldly world is tough, even more so when your body doesn't work how you wish it would. I have often asked myself, "How can such a broken body be made with such loving intentions?" or "What can God do with any of this?" These questions slowly degrade me, just as I have seen them do the same for many others. We need to come to the understanding that we are made lovingly and perfectly, because God doesn't deem a "broken" body as a useless one.
