A few weeks ago, I bought a two by two Rubik’s Cube to play with and fidget with during the day. I wanted to learn how to solve it and then work my way up to the bigger cubes. I can only do one face on the original 3X3 Cube I have, but it’s progress. The 2x2 is easier and I was able to look up directions online. I’m getting faster at solving it. And it reminds me of how when I have a problem with something, like when my OCD gets to be too much or when I am just feeling out of place, sometimes it just takes a little time to figure things out. And sometimes the solution is not right in front of me. Sometimes I need to practice being patient and sometimes I need to just practice being better at my coping skills. Figuring out any puzzle requires time. And I like puzzles because they jog your memory and you can learn different things from them. The Cube puzzles are much like practicing coping skills. The more you figure it out, the more you can know how to do better next time. Life is frustrating; so are puzzles. But when you keep at it and work to find a good practice for yourself, then it works out. At least, that’s the way it’s been lately. #RubiksCube #ObsessiveCompulsiveDisorder #nvld #Anxiety #FidgetToys
