I’m Back!

Hello everyone! Hope you all haven’t forgotten about me. After about a 2 month break, I am back to posting on the Mighty. To those who have worried about where I’ve been, I’m fine. Going into my junior year, I’ve had a lot of homework this summer. I’ve been so occupied! But anyways, i wanted to let you guys know I haven’t been feeling my best. I’ve been dealing with some anxious feelings while going out as I’m ashamed to let people see the way I walk. I’ve also been on the more emotional side as I wish I could pray my #CerebralPalsy away. I try to come to terms with it, but it’s hard. On the bright side, I finally found a good pair of shoes for school. I highly recommend slip on Vans, as they are super comfy. Plus, the soles are sneaker material so they will last a long time!! No more broken shoes for me! Lastly, I’ve been thinking about some possible alternatives to somehow improve my gait. Does anyone know of any procedures, preferably non invasive (though I will also take surgery recommendations) that will fix my tiptoe gait and keep my heels on the floor? If so, please leave a comment below. I missed you all so much! #Spasticity #SpasticDiplegia #CPStrong #Disability #52SmallThings

I’m so over breaking shoes!!

For those of you that didn’t know, my mild #CerebralPalsy causes me to walk on my tiptoes. As you could probably imagine, I go through shoes fairly quickly. My school requires the students to wear black flats, so I usually have about a month and a half until I need to move on to the next pair...
it’s embarrassing for people to point out or ask why my shoes look like they’re breaking when I just got them, because it makes me remember the reason why I can never keep a pair of shoes in a good condition. It also makes me feel bad for my mom, as she constantly has to waste money on buying me new shoes.
I wish I could wear sneakers to school, as I actually have never broken a pair since they are so durable. So, does anyone know of some good dress shoe brands for girls that are very durable and won’t break quickly? This would really help. #Spasticity #SpasticDiplegia
