Armando Vega Gil Dies by Apparent Suicide After Being Accused of Sexually Abusing a Minor

Mexican rockstar and member of the band Botellita de Jerez, Armando Vega Gil, died on Monday by apparent suicide at the age of 64. The band confirmed his death on Twitter.
With immense regret, we communicate that our partner @ArmandoVegaGil passed away early today. We are processing this news and doing the corresponding procedures. Rest in peace, little brother. (Translated from Spanish.)

Vega Gil’s died one day after being accused of sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl by the anonymous Twitter account @MeTooMúsicosMexicanos. The bio of the anonymous account reads, “Open space to report aggressions in the music industry. Send a DM with your anonymous report and we will publish the name of the aggressor.” (Translated from Spanish)
Prior to his death, Vega Gil posted to Twitter, denying the allegation and stating his intention to die by suicide.
