People (especially one person) keep asking to live with us.
Long post sorry
So lately my man and I have had multiple people ask if they can live with us due to one reason or another. But we’ve had one person ask us more than once and that’s my man’s best friend.
So tonight my man’s best friend got kicked out of a halfway house for three days because he got drug tested positive for weed.
He called my man and told him what happened and I agreed he could stay for the three days.
When they came back my guy comes into our room and say “hey baby I’ve got a question”
I rolled my eyes because I knew what he was going to ask. The first thing out of my mouth was “No. he can’t live with us.”
He tried to explain the situation and stick up for his friend. I get that he cares for his friend, but the thing is this isn’t the first time. Not the second, but the third time.
The first two times it’s been the same thing. He friend gets kicked out of a halfway house for a few days, calls us, stays for 2-3 nights then asks if he can live with us for a month to save up for his own place, and that he would pay us for letting him stay.
The first time I said yeah that’s fine. He stayed not even a week.
The second time I said fine. He stayed almost two weeks. Long story to that situation.
After the second time I sat my man down and said “we can’t keep doing this, it is taking a toll on not only my mental health but yours. And it’s causing problems in our relationship. You’re friend sleeps all day on our couch, leaves his crap all over the place, he doesn’t dispose of his cigarettes in the properly instead he throws them on the ground outside.”
My man agreed with me and said that he’ll have a talk with him and that his friend won’t live with us.
Now back to the present, my man says that it will only be for a month until he can get his own place.
I looked at him and told him that he agreed that his friend wouldn’t be living with us. He can stay the three days, but no more.
