Morning struggles

Pretty sure migraines are a genetic thing in my family but after my head injury when I was 15 they’ve gotten worse. I’m back at a new neurologist to find a migraine medication to help but I’m also in the middle of trying to find a new heart rate medicine so things are slow going for both. Unfortunately my migraine has hit hard this morning on top of my IBS so I’m hurting. Luckily I have vacation this week but lately my migraines have been notching up more especially since I haven’t been sleeping well through the night so then I have nightmares and wake up with harder migraines. I normally try to drink a cup of decaf coffee to help with light headaches since I try to stay away from normal coffee due my heart rate spiking over 115 lately but today is just a hard normal cup of coffee morning to try and deal with this migraine. Good grief.. slept so terrible last night because of the migraine started last evening.

When I’m in pain #NotDoneYet #IFindStrenght #BrainPain

When I’m in pain — physical or emotional — the kindest thing I can do for myself is…

Be kind to myself.

Seems simple, but we (I) are our own worst critics. We think we shouldn’t be slowed down or hindered by physical or emotional disruptions in the force (haha). But seriously, being kind to myself is the best gift I can give to myself. It’s hard to do at times though.
If a good friend or family member was going through the exact same struggles I am, I would see all the brave and beautiful things about that person and would urge them to be kind to themselves. So, the challenge to myself is to see the brave and beautiful things about myself during times of struggle… and be kind. It sounds kinda weird but my focus shifts from myself in away.
