My neck has gradually become worse since last fall. It got so bad that I had to lay down to stop the pain. I found a chiropractor nearby that is familiar with EDS- which seems like a miracle- and she confirmed that I had two cervical subluxations. A few days after my very gentle adjustment, I was in so much pain my family called for an ambulance. The sides of my face were numb and the pain was at an 8, so I thought it warranted going. I would not have gone to a hospital in the middle of a pandemic if I didn’t think I needed to. To make a long story short, the ER doctor didn’t help me at all. My primary ordered an MRI that looked normal.
I’m thinking that it may have looked normal because I was lying down and that’s when the pain lessens. Anyone else have that experience? Have you had a sitting MRI?
My rheumatologist put me through to physical therapy, and they seem to think it’s all a muscular problem. I’m sure that’s part of it, but my chiropractor confirmed subluxations.
Does physical therapy help in this situation?
I’m going to keep seeing my chiropractor too.
I’m just tired of not being able to sit up for more than 10 minutes to an hour. And pain meds (like Vicodin) do not help. Also I lay on a heating pad a lot but that has stop helping as well.
If you have any experience with this type of thing, let me know. I’d greatly appreciate it! Hope you are having a good day/ night!! #HEDS #EhlersDanlosSyndrome #ChronicPain
