Hey You, Yes you. I see you.
I see you trying to carry the weight of the world on your shoulders. I see you on the days you don’t have the strength to smile. And the days that you overcompensate for your emotions with exuberant happiness because you don’t want anyone to know the immense battle that you are fighting within. You want everyone to perceive that you are…okay. I see you then too.
I see your hurt and pain and I want to wrap my arms around you like a big, warm, heavy blanket. I want you to know that I am here. I see you comparing yourself to others, self-consciously thinking less of yourself because of the false realities you see on social media, at work, when you go out in public, ect… and wondering why your life “can’t be like that”. I see you.
I see you when everything seems to be crumbling around you and you just can't see the light. I want you to know that you are doing better than you think you are. You are loved more than you feel you deserve. And even if you don’t believe it right now, the world is better with you in it. And when it all gets to be too much to cope with – when your mind is racing, yet numb at the same time....And your body is so heavy it almost takes your breath away... I am here. I am listening. And I see you. You are perfectly imperfect - broken, wonderful, You. A you, so worthy of love.
Take a deep breath. It’s okay to be “not okay”. Recognize it. Acknowledge it. And know that there is no hole too deep to climb out of. You are resilient. You are important. And I see you. Broken, wonderful, You.
It was rencently Suicide prevention week. And since Mental Health follows no timeline, has no age, and can strike down anyone, even the most rock solid of people at any given moment...I believe it is important to share this today, tomorrow, and always. No matter how taboo the subject may be. My hope is that if even one person feels more valued after reading this then it was worth it.
You are important and I see you. ❤
In Memory of the most rock-solid women I knew. 💔 Diane, see you when the sun sets 💔
