The Book of Illness

Each day becomes a page in a chapter.

Chapters on survival, on sacrifice, on choice;
Chapters on symptoms, doctors visits, tests;
Chapters on anxiety, patience, resilience, results;
Chapters on adaptation, transformation, resistance;
Chapters on loss, frustration, acceptance.

We can plan all we want for where we want life to take us, and planning is good but things rarely go according to plan. I didn’t expect things to go to according to plan but I never expected to end up with a #RareDisease and have my life flipped upside down in the blink of an eye.

Through this process I have learned (although it’s still early) it’s easier to let the waves wash over you then try to ride them.

Feel what you need to feel.
Relinquish control.
Surrender to the process.

But never stop fighting for what you need and deserve. ✨Keep your above water✨

When do I get to be normal?

It’s like the thoughts never stop racing around and around. More than anything, I just want to sleep. I want to stop yelling at my children for being children. I want to not feel every little thing so intensely. #BipolarDepression #Recentlydiagnosed #BipolarDisorder #IDontEvenKnow

Hey I’m Nichole. I’m new here. I’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety for which feels like forever... things recently got to the point where idealizations were haunting my mind and I decided I really NEEDED professional help. Last year was a mess. I started cheating in my marriage, I got in trouble with the law and basically spun out of control. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. I was started on meds and should be starting therapy soon. Im scared because of the stigma surrounding mental illness... Especially bipolar. Any kind words or support or tips are greatly appreciated 🖤
