I absolutely despised the medical store cane choices I was given when I walked in with my prescription. My father and husband noticed my hand cramping up and my scorn for it. Told them, "If I have to use this for the rest of my life, I don't want to hate it." So they went in together online and bought my current one for me - pink and sparkly, foldable, so ME.

I get so many stares and snubs, but so many compliments and kids coming up wanting to know about it. I think I'm finally at the point that I don't want to hide my limp, I own it! #Cane #limp #Fibromyalgia #badbalance #sparkle #Falling

I try and teach this to my kids. Often times we go through life worrying what others will think. I am guilty of doing this with the clothes I wear or the things I say or even want to do. But, who cares ! We are who we are for a reason. We are a beautiful work of art. You may get “the looks” because that person may be admiring you from afar. Maybe they wish they had your spark. Your individuality. They may be struggling with some parts of themselves. So don’t worry. Carry on with your bad self.
