I get you now, Robin. Because I’m you. In front of my class, I’m this wonderful, entertaining and witty teacher whom every student loves. The adoration and adulation I get every time I’m in front of my class keeps my tears from falling down. Everyone admires my gift of gab, my radiance, and even my clothes.
But after each class, when I’m all alone, that’s when the words of praise slowly fade away. That’s when whispers of depression start to reverberate loudly in my mind, echoing the anxious beating of my heart.
The show is over. Everything was an act.
I’m alone, and nobody has the patience to listen to my litany of lonely lines.
I just want the pain to end. #Depression #Facade
