Joubert Syndrome is a rare genetic disorder that causes abnormal brain development and abnormalities, including a decreased size of the cerebellar vermis. It is characterized by decreased muscle tone (hypotonia), problems with coordination, abnormal breathing patterns and eye movements, and intellectual disability. The range in severity varies by individual, and treatments target the specific symptoms.
