Bravery has absolutely nothing to do with feelings.
Nothing.
Feelings come and feelings go.
Feelings are shifting sands that do not pertain to reality. They are chemicals that can intensify truth as well as make up lies.
Truth is the only absolute Truth in this world- a solid rock in a time where everything falls apart. We need to remind eachother of this.
“Wanting to get up” and fight is something I don’t want to do most days. But actually doing it is what counts. “GETTING UP” and fighting is what counts. Telling yourself you can’t is turning your own bald on yourself. I know this, because I’ve done it. Be honest- scream if you must. Cry. It’s what warriors do. We ourselves do not encompass within ourselves sufficient power to LIVE- it is found in Jesus. We end up just surviving, at best. For as long as we can. But God can not only help us LIVE the rest of our lives here, He extends that into eternity.
That is how we know everything will be ok.
Jesus loves you and me RIGHT WHERE WE ARE AT. THIS VERY MOMENT. The hatred. The pain. The scars. The questions. The doubts. Oh, how he loves us. Did you know that He even loved Judas- the very one who turned him over to be brutally butchered? He gave him the same love and opportunity as the other disciples- the same as Peter. Peter denied Jesus, Judas turned Him in. Both were loved equally. But one gave up, while to other asked for forgiveness.
Jesus will take us right where we are- in ways people do not. It makes no sense, His kind of love. But that’s part of the adventure. The Mystery.
That is the battle.
