I had the Stereo EEG surgery to capture my seizures and information and I have been told I am a candidate for Epilepsy surgery. It's been a really tough admission...my anxiety did go through the roof at one point but I'm glad I stick it out! I have both Frontal and Temporal lobe Epilepsy and I have been offered a Temporal Lobe Resection to help dampen down my seizures as the Frontal lobe area is too big so my VNS and medication will help manage these types of seizures. After meeting with the Neurosurgeon back in January to discuss the Stereo EEG I finally have a date for my invasive testing surgery to pinpoint the location of my seizures (end of August!) When you have been waiting so long...it feels like it's never going to happen and now I'm getting a bit scared! If it means helping dampen down the seizure activity then this will all be worth it. Biggest surgery I've ever had yet! Difficult when you are in midst of it. I don't know what I'm scared of more; surgery or having seizures induced!
