What do you put in your tea? #teatime #Selfcare

I like my tea slightly sweet, so I like to add a bit of honey to black teas or chai. If I’m really indulging myself, I will have both honey and milk, taking it like my Scottish grandmother. And of course, nothing helps my throat more than honey and lemon when I’ve got a cold or flu. How do you take your tea?

A picture perfect moment… #Depression #teatime #Anxiety #PTSD #selfcare

A real life hallmark moment.
It’s time for a break. It’s 3 in the afternoon and your feeling wound up and need a moment. Tea, “ya I’ll take a tea and sit in the den and watch the snow fall”. As you reach for your favourite mug you force yourself to ignore the dirty dishes. “Well done it’s me time!” Just then your phone rings.
“Hello… oh I’m sorry to here that… ya I have a minute to talk…ok bye ” . It’s now 3:45 and you realize your favourite cup is in the dirty dishes. I’ll just get that done and then I’ll have my tea. It’s now 4:00. As the kettle begins to boil the front door opens. “It’s really beautiful out there”. Your daughters home from school. “I have dance tonight”. You glance out the kitchen window and see the car and driveway covered in snow. And great here comes the plow. Just then the laundry buzzer goes off and you automatically go and move it into the dryer. It’s now 4:15. As you enter the kitchen agin you realize you’ve not taken anything out for dinner. You sigh. Fish and chips will do. One more bullet dodged. Now back to tea. You turn the kettle back on and get the tea bag and drop it into your tea pot. As your filling the tea pot with freshly boiled water, your thinking on the importance of using boiling water for the best tea. The front door opens agin. “Can you take these from me? I have more groceries in the car”. After the groceries are put away and the small talk is done it’s now 5. What! You now need to get dinner on. It’s now 6 “dinners ready”. “I have dance at 7” “don’t worry we’ll make it, sit down and eat”. It’s 6:30. You and your daughter leave the house for dance.
You can’t see it but you picture the scene, the kitchen window is framed with a flower patterned curtains , next to the window is a cup and tea pot. The fluffy snow is drifting down as the sun is beginning to set.. It’s the perfect hallmark moment. To bad you aren’t there to see it.
Sometimes you just need to say no to life and stand by yourself. Life moves at a fast pace. Remember to toss an anchor out and slow it down.
