A reminder to rest

If you need to rest. Do it.

It's okay to rest. The people who love you will understand.

And the ones who don't, well, sod 'em 😉

Don't be ashame of who you are.

When your lifestyle changes it can be hard to remember it isn't your fault. It's easy to place blame on yourself and feel ashamed of that fact you can't do what you used to, you need help or that your body and mind has changed along with your lifestyle.

You have no reason to be ashamed. You're still here, you're fighting and you should be proud of that.

#keepgoing you never know what's around the corner.

Pushing through the hard times takes a lot of strength. It's good to look back and see how far you've come from certain moments in your life.

This time two years ago I was having upto 30 seizures a day, couldn't get out of bed and was having issues with my bladder.

Today I went into town with my Mum, we were out and about for a good three hours. I had one seizure but it didn't take over the day.

It can feel like your situation will never change but you never know what's round the corner.

Anyone else here have functional seizures?

I made a short video. I know others with functional seizures who are embarrassed by them or frightened of them and honestly during yesterday's I was a little frightened because of the position. Maybe the more we hear of other's experiences, the less lonely and scared we will feel. We don't need to be embarrassed of them, they're part of some of us now and we can make sure they don't take over our lives.
