Most of you know my saga with rescue dogs well yesterday i picked up a fantastic Black Lab about 6 months old and im very happy. The emotional support that these animals are to meis unparalleled. Chronic pain and illness take a back seat when i am with my special dog. I liv#e in a small town in the Sierra's and i am fortunate to have a lot of beauty surrounding me but as many of you know rural areas have limited resources. I feel fortunate to have a Dr so close to my house and today during my office visit i asked to get braces for my arms because the muscular Dystrophy is getting quite taxing on my arms and i already wear full leg braces KAFO. He told me that bigger things will start to happen eventually that will be more important such as breathing, swallowing, and bodily functions. He said such a brace for your arm would be cumbersome and ineffective for my condition since all my muscle groups are involved.

.You may think where is the gratitude? Its in the Dr its in the office staff there rhat treat me so well. Most of all that Dr gave it to me straight and practical he's been my PCP for 10 years and i trust everything he says. I have spent some time on the mighty but always wanted to comment on this page. I have severe pain from Hyper Algesia, peripheral neuropathy and fibromyalgia. The root cause of these ailments over eight spinal surgeries and a diagnosis last year with progressive myosinopathy a rare disease that is slowly taking out all my muscle with no cure or treatment.

I was unable to home the rescue that bit my Mom and the adoption agency initially wanted me to train the Aggression out of the dog and crate it. The dog had already been through training according to them but they care about the dog more than my safety because retraining a dog who has bitten at a level Five is dangerous even for experienced handlers. They sent out several emails asking if anyone would take the dog even supposed pros and no one responded. I am going today to put the dog down for the safety of others because he has completely bonded with me which makes the whole thing harder. I love dogs but i love my Mom even more and she can't live in trauma while the dog is here. I know some of you know i lost my Black Lab but i have some exciting news i adopted a rescue dog a Dutch Shepherd. He was abused with shock therapy and an owner who dropped him off at a high kill rate shelter in Orange county when the animal barked too much he would turn up the shock voltage. The dog was luckily taken to a foster house and then put up for adoption. I know the pain of life but when someone abuses an animal in this manner my heart breaks so i saved a life and enriched ten fold.#ChronicPain #MuscularDystrophy #RareDisease ###Fibromyalgia #Depression #Disability #Anxiety

Needed some uplifting distractions so I noticed our garden has begun to pop early excuse the pun. He was 6 weeks old when I got him so I was his dad not just an owner and I loved him dearly. My heart is broken the ray of sunshine that saved my soul in so many ways has passed away. We were just going to the vet for a checkup but that morning he was already acting strange panting uncomfortably and on the way there he was foaming at the mouth I had a bad feeling that today he might not make it. When I got to the vet they had to pull him out of my truck on a stretcher and he went inside and I waited until they called me in. The vet said your dog is in major distress and the prognosis isn't good so with a very heavy heart I made the choice to have him put to sleep he was 14 trying out another cancer medication would only hurt the dog.
