I have chronic pain & fatigue, autoimmune diseases, etc. I have to spend most my time in bed. I live with 3 other people and we have 2 black cats. They know I'm grandma. They will come and snuggle and nap with me on the bed and when I do get up, they wind around my legs while I try to walk, lol.  Our cat Hoagie is famous for getting one step ahead of me, then flopping on his back so I'll rub his tummy and scritch his ears and give him lots of Grandma love. My door is always slightly open so they can come and go.
I have COVID-19 and I'm halfway thru my 14 day isolation. Of course my door is shut solid. First day was okay. Second day I would see little black paws under my door, which they continued for 3 or 4 days. They tried their hardest to open my door, they even tried throwing themselves at it. They have sat at my door and meowed to get their Momma & Bobba's attention but of course that doesn't get them what they want. Of course they don't understand I could make them sick too. They just know that Grandma gives cuddles and love and when Grandma is really sick they take care of her- they really do! Finally last night, when I was already 'trying' to sleep, my son entered my room and just stood by the door, Then his wife came in and stood by my bed, then leaned over to see if I was breathing. She called my name and asked me if I was ok, did we need to call the emergency number. Turns out Hoagie was so mad that he couldn't get into my room, that he planted himself right in front of my door and poofed his tail as big as it would go! That's his sign that something is really wrong. The little trickster thought they would have to open the door and let him in for emergency Grandma care!
I absolutely love our cats and even tho I can't be near them right now, they still cheer me up, and in every way they can, let me know they love me.
