The Halloween decorations in my neighborhood remind me that the holidays are just around the corner. I love seeing the little ones trick or treating!
It reminds me how much fun I had as a child dressing up and running around the neighborhood to get the biggest stash of candy I could.
So I'm going to try today to 'treat' myself to something I used to enjoy as a kid. Maybe it will be a sundae cone, maybe rice krispy treats. I won't be doing this everyday, but today I am going to treat myself.
Treating ourselves reminds us that we matter and we are special. We all deserve to feel that way.

I introduced my son to one of everyone’s favorite treats a few weeks ago. He calls them “healthy cookies” because, well, peanut butter and oats are healthy, right?
I’ve been using this recipe: Peanut Butter-Chocolate No-Bake Cookies by Food Network Kitchen. Not sure the link will come through, but I bet Google can find it, lol. One warning, though, is I assumed no bake meant less heat. It doesn’t. The stovetop sure seems hot during those few minutes when we already are in heatwave on top of drought!
My very cute rescued dogs like full attention. Stella and Stewie like food, rolling in dirt in the yard, and treats. Stella loves swimming and playing with her fourth soccer ball. Stewie likes to be cute, toys (everywhere!!), and treats!
