Totally new to this... any wives with husbands with bipolar disorder?
I find there’s not many resources for us and I feel like lost sometimes. #Wifeviews #Wifeselfcare #Wives #BipolarDisorder #BipolarDisorderDiagnosis

I have faced the stigma of mental health services many times in my life, and am still amazed when I see it. My husband had a Nervous Breakdown last fall, he is doing well now, has since done intensive outpatient services and partial hospital day services and now weekly services and it has been a major journey through this process growing and opening in so many ways. The PTSD treatment by using EmDR has been amazing to watch as his wife of ten years, a situation which could have triggered a huge reaction was a minor pause and then a deep breath, 5 years ago it would have been a completely different story. Now if he would have had a heart attack last fall and had just been getting back to work 10 months later you would be impressed in his recovery time, Yet, because it was a mental health issue ”he must be lazy” or ”selfishly” is not working during those ten months.
I do hope one day it changes to be just as acceptable to have a day off work, a week off, whatever you need; the same as a heart attack. Thanks for reading my rant about my thoughts and views in the United States.
