Unsolicited advice

What are the most common unsolicited advice you get? For me, with my gut problems: “try it, it’s delicious” “fiber is good for you” “you can’t have salad, either!?! 😱” # IBS #crohndisease #CollagenousColitis #UlcerativeColitis #Depression #PTSD

Fermented v Pickled

Someone asked me that question. Here’s an answer from a reputable source. Alex Lewin a graduate of the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts and the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. He emphasizes on fermentation and real food. (The picture above is from his book Real Food Fermentation.) #CollagenousColitis #IBS #UlcerativeColitis #Lupus

Apology

I want to apologize for posting the wrong article about fermentation. I wanted to share that info cuz that method of food preservation has helped me enormously with my #CollagenousColitis . I didn’t realize that the article in question was actually and advertisement for products that I haven’t tried and I won’t try. I didn’t mean to be soliciting for them. Thank you. PS. I’ll make it up to you and I’ll post an informative article about fermentation.

For some reason or the next, this year I wasn’t too enthusiastic about the garden. I planted and weeded, I watered and fertilized; I mulched and cultivated. However, I did it in a mechanical way, without feelings; and the plants felt it too. They’re not producing like in previous seasons. It’s amazing how gardener and plants are in such a close connection.

Cukes for pickling

Time to pickle. Which ones do you prefer, dill pickles or bread and butter pickles? Hot or not? Sliced, spears, or whole. Thank you.

USA v Australia USWST (United States Women Soccer Team). If you’re up, consider watching the best team of the world playing its third match in the Olympic Games Japan 2021. #Insomnia #Depression #CollagenousColitis #PTSD

Garlic harvest

I planted a dozen cloves of garlic and I harvested a dozen heads of garlic. Nature is the mama, never takes from us. I’m waiting for tomatoes, sunflowers and onions. Cucumbers are growing and peppers didn’t do well. The birds ate my corn and pea seeds. I replanted and they re ate. Let them have it. #GardeningLiftMeUp #OrganicGardening #UC #Depression #CollagenousColitis

Fermented vegetables

I’m in heaven. Many of us cannot eat raw vegetables; once fermented, they’re crunchy, delicious, and good for the gut. #IBS #CollagenousColitis
