What's a quote or lyric that inspires/motivates you? #MentalHealth #Anxiety #Depression #ChronicIllness

I always love this one!

There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask, "What if I fall?"
Oh, but my darling,
What if you fly?

What chore is hard for you to "get done" due to your many responsibilities as a parent?

For me it is having dinner ready. I wish there was a "food fairy" who magically prepared healthy meals for my family.

What do you want the world to know about #DownSyndrome

I want the world to know our life is not sad, and our daughter is the best thing that could have happened to our family.

When a school teacher is the one to initiate inclusion...

School just called, it was the band teacher. At the end of the school year she approached me about having my daughter with Down syndrome join band. We talked about it and how she could potentially do percussion. However, the instrument rental is around $3,000, so we did not pursue it further. She called to ask once again for her to join the band. She said if cost was the issue, then she was going to work with us and we could find other solutions, but she said she absolutely really wants my daughter in band and even shared with me the book she has adapted to use with her. This was all this teacher's initiative, her being the one to go the extra step for inclusion. As a mom, I cannot say how much this means to me because I am the one constantly fighting for inclusion for my kids in school, and to have it turned around is absolutely a gift.
