Everyone suffers through some hardship in there lives.The hardest part for me# is finding people who share my experience through muscular dystrophy. I don't need validation I just want some more understanding even my friend of forty years insuated I was a drug addict because I take pain medication. I appreciate the Mighty because it's the only place that someone might listen. The moment I've been waiting for is here my Cactus has bloomed in the night. These little stoic San Pedro plants are a testament to nature's perseverance with barely any water they bloom every seven years I have propogated them to about six plants. Thanks in part to my Mighty Community I went ahead and gave my Dr this gift of old Apocathery bottles and he loved it. He even showed me pictures of where he was going to put the display making another shelf for it. We grew so many plants over the years on the patio they spread seeds. In these little cracks you can see the flowers. Also a picture of my San Pedro cactus pre bloom you can see what looks like a spider nest on the side. The elasticity of the human brain is really put to the test when you have a chronic illness with no cure or treatment. The first couple of years i was handling it but that goes up and down you are being put through the test as all this pain and immobility takes down your spirit. You learn to accept your limitations and you move on until the next symptom comes up. Im just tired of playing the mind game of fending off the obvious like it's going to be ok when you know its not.

What keeps me going is i taking care of my 86yr old mom and i have a wonderful dog.I also live in a beautiful mountain community as natire brings me joy.#MentalHealth #MuscularDystrophy #DegenerativeDiscDisease #RareDisease #Depression #Fibromyalgia

Just a snap shot of the San Pedro cactus blooms over the years. Its almost prehistoric looking as you can see the bloom pod grow has protecting scales before they bloom. Starts off as a small nub with hair in it on the side or top of the cactus.
