My employer asked me to take time off work to take care of my mental health (I needed it). I’m curious how other people handle things at work, like when too much is asked of you and your head feels like it’s going to explode. Are there any groups here that pertain to how your neurodivergence affects you at work?

What is your experience with Reasonable Accommodations?

I first learned about EEOC rights and RA's summer of 2017, with great hope I started in applying for reasonable accommodations. So much hope!! Dashed. Crushed. My employers response absolutely shocked and demoralized me. I've yet to hear any stories of truly effective accommodation experiences. I'd love to know they are out there. At the same time, if there are not... we need to change things so that reasonable accommodations are not another inaccessible pipe dream.

Any success stories with Reasonable Accommodation requests?#reasonableaccomodations

Reading the company EEO policy it sounded like inclusion & reasonable accommodations were awaiting the asking for eligible employees.

For me: it has been a full year since I was naive enough to self identify & boldly ask for accommodations. Two denied RA requests,& a filed EEO complaint later, No flexibility in scheduling, nor telework option will be allowed. I’m ready to wave the white flag of surrender. It has been nothing but an opportunity to experience bias & discrimination. #Discrimination , #ADA ,#reasonableaccommodations
