Doctorvisits

I have an appointment at the doctors today. After 5 years of being talk my pain was in my head or that it was part of my depression or even that I just needed to get more sleep. I am finally going to find out if I have fibromyalgia or I will get the results of the 20 odd other things they tested my blood for. I’m super nervous, obviously I don’t want fibromyalgia, but I just want to have something - I know.. I just want to be able to know what’s wrong, so I can start to fix, or just learn to deal with it properly. Mouth dry, skin slick,
fear;
another form of
excitement “they” say.

Change into the coarse garment,
the doctor saunters in.
“You are going to be fine”, they say.
“It won’t even pinch”, they say.

Yet, as needles enter,
fire is set upon your skin.
Jolts, jumping, jerking,
“the easy part is over.”

“We are really ready to begin.”

“Lay still, lie flat, don’t move.”
While shards of glass enter skin,
bruising, burning, blistering.

“Don’t cry, it’s all done.”
Remember, today is
just another day.
