Self care ideas? Rough day.

I had a quadruple EMG today, and neck and back done too. Then a doctors appointment in the afternoon to go over it where they said either cancer or some rare autoimmune disease that they don’t know about.
I’m deflated, and in pain physically. I’d love some self care ideas 💡 #Cancer #emg #tests #autoimmune #Selfcare #Pain #sad #Depression #DoctorVisit

Abnormal EMG?

I had spine surgery on my neck for a pinched nerve, a foraminotomy on 2 levels. My pain began creeping back and yesterday they did an EMG. The tech could only tell me she “found something” and that it explains my pain. My follow up appointment isn’t until the 11th. Any ideas? It was 2 muscles she tested. #emg #ChronicPain #ChronicSpinePain #spinesurgery #SpinalStenosis #CervicalRadiculopathy

Does anyone have experience with #PeripheralNeuropathy ??

my rheumatologist diagnosed me with it, but didn’t give me any ideas as to where to go from here. The doctor who did my EMG & nerve conduction study seemed much more nervous about it than my rheum does. Since it’s causing me a lot of pain, weakness, numbness &
tingling, I’d love to know what I can do to help make it better. Thanks!!

meds, then EMG #

My neurosurgeon doubles my gabapentin. I’m now on 1800mg a day. He also added a pack of steroids. If my nerve pain continues another week, he’ll order a EMG.

I’m not sure what to expect or what he’ll learn to help. I’m not really sure of much of anything anymore. #Steroids #emg #SpinalStenosis #PinchedNerve #nervepain

Another Day / EMG #emg #Disability #Doctorvisits #tests #Pain #PatientAndDoctorExperiences #AutoimmuneDisesase #UndiagnosedRareDisease #StiffPersonSyndrome #Lupus

Mouth dry, skin slick,
fear;
another form of
excitement “they” say.

Change into the coarse garment,
the doctor saunters in.
“You are going to be fine”, they say.
“It won’t even pinch”, they say.

Yet, as needles enter,
fire is set upon your skin.
Jolts, jumping, jerking,
“the easy part is over.”

“We are really ready to begin.”

“Lay still, lie flat, don’t move.”
While shards of glass enter skin,
bruising, burning, blistering.

“Don’t cry, it’s all done.”
Remember, today is
just another day.
