The thyroid gland is a vital hormone gland. It plays a major role in the metabolism, growth and development of the human body. It helps to regulate many body functions by constantly releasing a steady amount of thyroid hormones into the bloodstream. Having a problem with your thyroid can affect sooo much in your body. And there are soooo many different symptoms that it can be very confussing and many times easy to miss.
There are many types of thyroid disease like
•Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
•Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
•Graves’ eye disease
•Cancer of the thyroid
•Nodules
It is estimated that about 200 million people around the world have some kind of thyroid disease and about 50% will go undiagnosed.
As someone who was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and nodules at 13 and then a goiter which turned out to be cancer just last summer (its gone now thank god 😊) I can't tell you enough how important it is to me to spread awarness.
Check your neck! It could make a difference like it did for me😊
