I had to take my husband to the hospital early yesterday morning, because he was having an acute on #ChronicPancreatitisattack. Yesterday I found things to distract me. I couldn't focus on the writing projects I have going. I deep cleaned our kitchen and straightened up a lot, which is difficult to do even with the help of our children due to my #chronicfractures from #cushing sdisease.
Today I got to take him a cup of good coffee and see him for about 30 seconds and promptly came home and started baking.
I always knew that these tasks that are physical and keep my mind from wandering off of work and on to worry. What I didn't realize is that I was wrong thinking that I was using them to distract me from the reality of my husband being in the hospital and our hearts aching for him. They were actually helping me cope in a healthy way, allowing me to ruminate, pray, and work out new story ideas in my head.
