My boyfriend has never been very good with being emotionally in touch with himself. He grew up in a home where feeling feelings were shameful. He’s great with me and taking care of me but when it comes to him and his undiagnosed anxiety he just smokes weed or drinks and keeps it all to himself. I try to help with tricks I have learned in 19 years of therapy and he won’t respond. I feel useless and he then tries to act fine. We both put up walls in the end. He has fallen down the COVID-19 social media rabbit hole and is scared out of his mind. He tends to overthink and can’t pinpoint his main point of anxiety. I don’t know how to reach him or help him. He refuses to see a professional. Are there any ways you think I can reach him?
