Cannabis Dependence

Unfortunately, I rarely find anyone to speak with about these old homes. Instead, I try to see them as they were knew - 150 years old. I step inside and glance out the window, wondering what the homesteaders saw. I wonder what they grew and what livestock they had; how many children (with probably 2 bedrooms lol), and how many times family and friends gathered to celebrate a holiday or birthday. It really is sad we don't have the history; at least we have to buildings.

This homestead was amazing. It still had all of the out buildings and most of them were still upright. When I was pulling in the driveway, this capture caught my attention. It turned out to be one of my best beginner pics ever.

My hobby is photography, specifically old farms and homesteads. It's my passion. I get to drive with soft music playing, cruising the back roads to see what I can find. Coming upon a new place and getting butterflies in my stomach; what will I find?

This farm had so many buildings to capture, with a stunning sky for a background. Although this building looks like it's going to topple over right away, it typically takes more than a few years for the ground to gobble up buildings.

I have taken up painting as a hobby and, although I have zero knowledge or talent, I find it calming. I either gift my pictures or turf them out. There are just too many to keep. This picture is my self portrait. The black represents trauma that slowly leads into the grey, that is healing. White represents fresh and new and innocent. The red is my face; I'm so broken it is unrecognizable.

My psychiatrist suggested I try Acceptance and Commitment Therapy for my mental health conditions. I am wondering if anyone has tried ACT, and what results they've had, good and bad.

We have two cats and two dogs. Ellie is our 14-year-old Chorkie (chihuahua x yorkie). She is my little girl and gets very stressed when she's away from me. Next is our 3-year-old seal point siamese named Zinger. Then comes our 2-year-old ocicat named Magnus. Finally, we just got a new baby chihuahua named Rika; she's 10 weeks old and weighs 2 lbs.

These critters keep me here when I'm facing my darkest days and worst demons. They need me. If I wasn't here, they would have to find new homes and that would be difficult, especially for little Ellie as she's old and has severe separation anxiety. I'm so thankful to all of them for keeping me here. I love them more than all the love in the world.

My toughest challenge is talking to and telling people about me. I never seem to know when to tell what or to whom to tell something else. I don't want my hypomanic self to give them all the things I THINK I can do, and I don't want my depressed side showing them I lack self-confidence or drive.
