Celebration?

Four years ago I had taken 8 impatient trips to the hospital and a 2.0.0.5 month long stay at a rehab facility. Four years ago I came home still anxious and depressed, but determined. I'm so proud to say that today is my four year anniversary of being out of the hospital. I used to laugh it off when people would tell me "it gets better" but now I try and show people that it can. No matter how dark and desperate it seems, keep your head up and keep pushing. The hard days do resurface but you can get past them and embrace the happiness waiting on the other side 💜 #BorderlinePersonalityDisorder #BipolarDepression #Anxiety #Celebratethelittlethings

What are you grateful for today?

I'm grateful for the delicious breakfast I made, the warm breeze out on the fields on our walk, and the candlelit meditation and yoga practice I gifted myself this morning. ❤️

Our son was asked to the prom!

Today, our son, age 15, was asked to the senior prom! You should have seen the grin on his face! He hasn’t had ANY friends since second grade! Seven years! I was so happy for him! He told his dad & his dad was angry we had to spend money! I told my son not to worry, I would make sure he looked good & got nice flowers for his date. I wrote a check & gave it to him, telling him I would look for food bargains & make it up that way. Our son is overcoming anxiety and depression. He lives with ADHD, prenatal alcohol exposure and trauma from spending his first 8.5 months in a Russian orphanage. Celebrate the good things! #Prom #Anxiety #Depression #ADHD #PTSD #Celebratethelittlethings #Orphanage #Trauma #behappy #Survivor

Getting there

It isn’t easy, it is so hard to explain to people who don’t have depression that some mornings you wake up and you just feel like poop other mornings I feel great. I try to celebrate the little things, and it helps me to build myself back to I once was. #Gettingthere #Celebratethelittlethings
