Hey

Things just keep happening to me.
Bilateral intermittent exotropia.
Bilateral femoral acetabular impingement.
My back is a dumpster fire.
Cortisone injections should last 3 months.
Mine lasted 2 and a half weeks.
PT is really not going so great.
She's afraid to damage my spine.
She's been trying to massage my hips.
Except she says my hips feel like there's marbles.
She said my hips are the hardest she's felt in a while.
I'm gonna take a gummy an hour before my appointment and see if it helps. I'm giving the gummies till Saturday next weekend. If I can be pain free for a few more days I'll be shocked.

Feeling much better today

This morning was really rough with waking up to a ginormous patch of ringworm. I waited for Pauley to wake up so she could put some medicine on the wound. It was bleeding a little bit this morning.
I took one gummy at 9am and another around 1pm. I have no pain. I haven't taken any of my pain meds today! I don't have a migraine either!
I ordered another jar of the gummies using a different email address cuz otherwise it was gonna be suuuuuuuuuper expensive. I also ordered a dropper bottle of CBD/CBG tincture. And I'm pretty sure I ordered another thing of samples of gummies. I'm quite serious about finding different ways to stop my pain.
The second gummy today was taken with hydroxyzine just so I could meditate deeply. Except I fell asleep and had some awesome dreams.
Something I expected was feeling high which I hate. I don't feel high. I feel like I could hug the whole world.
Of course now I've got a serious case of the munchies. I'll have some pizza for dinner tonight. But I'm really craving shawarma and falafel and poutine.
Emotionally I feel great. I'm alert, focused, and happy. This Feels amazing.

Pain relief options

So the meds kinda work sometimes which absolutely sucks. And the CBD cream I have takes the edge off the pain but a 6 is still a 6. I remember from about 14 years ago I tried THC gummies and they knocked me on my ass. Then I tried CBD gummies and I was taking them because of severe insomnia. I slept sooooooo good with those goofy peach rings. So I figured I'd try to find a gummy for stress and anxiety relief. I found a company that has a "free jar, just pay shipping" and they retail for 70 bucks! I ordered a jar about 5 days ago so there's quick turnaround.
Guess what arrived today!!!
I was so excited. i opened the box and took out the gummies. I opened the jar and sniffed but it was... Chemically. I knew these wouldn't taste good but they smelled like serious business. So at 330pm I ate 2 gummies. An hour later my mind was calm.
2 hours later I noticed that I didn't have any pain.
Wait... What?!?! How the what the what???
Yeah. No migraine. Back felt great. Hips were a little stiff but they didn't hurt at all. And I had gotten sick 4x this morning right before I got them... And after eating the gummies, my tummy felt wonderful. I have chronic GI disease and I'm usually complaining about my tummy hurting.
I told Pauley about how good I feel and she was shocked. The pain started coming back about an hour ago. So 330pm till 10pm. That's definitely a change of pace. I just took half of a gummy to help me rest better. I'm curious about what kind of dreams I'll have tonight.

Tomorrow

I have pt at 3pm tomorrow. Im super anxious. The last time I had PT with Molly I got discharged after 6 weeks because it actually made my hips worse. My hips are actually a lot worse since then. So I'm worried. The plan is to see if I can do aquatic therapy. They think it would be more effective. I'm trying to be optimistic.
Pauley got home last night at 1040pm. I was napping when she got home. It's been a rough couple days. We have fun plans for the weekend. Im hoping I'm feeling well enough for it.

For fuck sake seriously?!?

So last night's MRI appointment didn't happen, they claim it was for the day before and I cancelled it. Except no I didn't.
The other MRI has been hitting snags. First they had to reschedule because they wanted to give my insurance a little more time to approve the PA. So I called the place where I was gonna do the MRI and they told me in order to get an MRI of my lumbar I have to first do 6 weeks of PT.
Nevermind my hips are bone on bone. Nevermind the bilateral femoral acetabular impingement. Nevermind I've tried PT for my hips a few years ago and it made it worse.
Sigh. Ok. We'll try again.

This morning

I had a video call with my pain specialist. We squeeeeeed about my hips not hurting for a week. She was so happy. She knows how miserable I've been.
Then I said now that my hips are fine, I am fully aware of how awful my back hurts. I'm supposed to have a MRI of my lumbar and then we're gonna schedule injections. She's also gonna try to help me with the musculoskeletal pain in my haunches.
I've gotta be the luckiest boy around to have such amazing doctors. My pain specialist was trying to distract me during the cortisone injections and I outed myself as a practitioner of BDSM and I am a leather puppy. She replied "so are you a Dom or a sub? Ooh or a switch." I told her I'm neither. I'm a sadomasochist service puppy who helps people express their emotions in gentle outlets with no fear of being vulnerable. She was so excited to hear. It helped me focus on something other than pain.
She's kink friendly and trans accepting. I gotta let my PCP know about my new doctor's.

Today's coffee adventure

Oh ok so hear me out. Banana butterscotch toffee caramel cinnabon flavored coffee.
Mind. Blown.
It's just sweet enough, I can taste every ingredient. It's silky smooth and rich. And the temperature is perfect.
I made it right before my telehealth appointment with my pain specialist. Oh she's such a a sweet woman. We talked about my back and it really just hinges on my getting the MRI done. It's scheduled for the 14th but I have another appointment that day. Even though they are hours apart my transportation only takes me to one appointment per day.
I am really glad she's my doctor. She said as soon as we get the MRI done we can schedule injections. I'm quite eager to get it done.
She looked at the X-ray and said she completely understands why I am hurting so much. Finally someone with education having compassion for me.

Oh so the prevalence of femoral acetabular impingement is 1% but bilateral is even less. My body thinks rare health problems are Pokemon.

Today

I've got an appointment with my pain specialist today at 1130am for cortisone injections in both hips. I've been fasting like a good boy. Hopefully everything goes fine.

How bad is my pain?

So far today I've taken 2 tramadol, 1.5 Norco, and had my darling stupidhead put some CBD cream on my back. The pain hasn't budged. Now I have my heating pad on my back.

I've got bilateral femoral acetabular impingement, bursitis, and osteoarthritis and 3 years ago I had surgery on my lumbar but I still have major pain. I've also got painful bone spurs in both hips and both hips are bone on bone.

This Friday I'm having cortisone injections in both hips. That should help with most of the pain and it'll last for a few months. I'm gonna talk to my doctor on Friday about how intense my back pain has gotten. We were trying to focus on my hips but she said we can cover my back also.

When I was supposed to have the hip injections 2 weeks ago and we couldn't do it because my BG was too high my doctor gave me a big hug and said she felt awful she couldn't do it but she said "I can try giving you a toradol shot in your right butt. It might help." Of course I was willing to try anything. Unfortunately it didn't help. But I was thankful my doctor tried.

Eventually I'm gonna need hip surgery. But we're gonna try everything first. But the pain is really bad because my hips are bone on bone. Which is new since September 2022. It's basically everything I have wrong with my hips and lumbar have accelerated in the last 3 years. I'm really worried..

Luckily I have a really nice pain specialist who really listens and cares. I'm gonna fast for the appointment on Friday so my BG is low enough for the injections. If everything goes right I'll have relief for about 3 months. Fingers crossed.

Well that didn't work

The 2 tramadol, 1.5 Norco, and CBD cream didn't help at all. Now I'm trying my heating pad.
In other news I accidentally licked the CBD cream. Very minty.
