What’s the best purchase you’ve ever made to better organize or declutter your home?

Who doesn’t love a good-sized bin, shelf, or cabinet that brings your room together; a perfectly sized calendar that fits all your appointments just right; or even a desk with all the necessary drawers you need to organize your items?

A good purchase can be a lifesaver.

What’s the best item you’ve ever purchased that helped you better organize or declutter your home? Why is it so great?

I don’t feel like my brain is wired that way
I always get distracted
I can’t adhere to systems that I set up

What part of your life is the most organized? The least?

We all have multifaceted lives with a zillion parts that require our attention. But the thing is, we can’t always keep every part organized and that’s OK!

What part of your life do you feel is the most organized right now? What part is the least? (No judgment here!)

TRUE or FALSE: Organizing comes easy to me.

Happy Monday, Mighties!

For this week’s challenge we’ll be focusing on organization. From the personal items in our homes, to our health needs and schedules, to even staying in touch and spending time with family and friends, there are multiple aspects of our lives that may require organization and balance.

When it comes to organizing, where do you fall? Does it come easy as if it’s second nature to you? Or is it more challenging, like a chore?

Tell us about your "found family."

Familial relationships can be complex, even more so for those of us who have experienced some level of trauma/abuse, or who have set boundaries with our immediate or extended biological families for a variety of reasons. Thankfully, this doesn’t necessarily mean we can’t create a family of our own.

A "found family" (also called a "chosen family") is a family we create ourselves with people we meet who help us to feel safe, protected, and loved.

Do you have a "found family?" Tell us about them. What makes your relationships with them great?

👉🏻As promised – reason for my absence👈🏻

As some of my fellow Mighties may have noticed, I have been absent from The Mighty for a past few months. The reason for this, and also the reason that I may be continuing to have some short breaks, is that, after years of surviving in a home that was entirely unsuitable and unsafe for me because of my disability and mobility needs, I was finally able to move into a fully adapted, wheelchair accessible, home.

This time last year I was surviving in a flat/apartment that had become entirely unsuitable and unsafe for me for so many reasons that it would take far too long so I created this list of the top 5 issues. Now I live in a home that is beyond anything I could have ever imagined living in and has, and continues to, improve my self-confidence, my self-worth and my life.
