What’s something you want to forgive yourself for?

Forgiving others? It can be done.
Forgiving ourselves? Depending on what you’re going through, this might be a little trickier (but nevertheless important).

If you fall into the latter category, today’s prompt is for you. Granting forgiveness toward ourselves is just as important as understanding and coming to terms with our past actions, behaviors, or habits in order to heal.

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks wants to forgive herself for how she spoke to herself all the years she grappled with perfectionism. She wants to be more gentle with how she interacts with herself and how she manages rejection and setbacks in her life.

What’s something you want to forgive yourself for?

What has your health taught you about forgiveness?

As a health community, much of our lived experience is, in some way (or all the ways!), impacted by the conditions we ourselves or someone we care about manages on a daily basis.

Our bodies, minds, and emotions influence many facets of our lives, from our daily routines to how we interact with ourselves and those around us. Forgiveness can also play a role as we navigate the ins and outs of those often challenging and sometimes unpredictable or inconsistent conditions.

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks health taught her that it’s OK to forgive herself for the unhelpful habits she’s developed growing up. She learned it’s also OK to speak up for herself now and change what she needs to in order to live a life that’s better for her.

What has your health taught you about forgiveness?

TRUE or FALSE: It’s easier for me to forgive others than it is to forgive myself.

We’ve reached the homestrech of our 2023 self-care challenges, Mighty champions 🙌. You are all doing a fantastic job and we’re super proud of you!

To kick off this month’s themes, we’ll be talking about forgiveness — a process we all experience differently, at varied paces, and for a range of distinct reasons. Some of our experiences are heavily influenced by the complexities of our daily circumstances, lived trauma/abuse, or health conditions. But when it comes down to it: how we manage the process of forgiveness, for ourselves and toward others, is an inherently personal journey.

For you, is it easier to forgive someone else than it is yourself? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below ⬇️.

How can you nurture yourself this weekend?

It’s the end of the week, Mighties, so let’s reflect on nurturing ourselves over the coming weekend! This can look like self-care, nurturing a hobby or passion project, spending time with people you care about, organizing/decluttering your work or living space, or doing something relaxing and fun.

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks plans to nurture herself this weekend by sleeping in and making sure to start a book that was gifted to her.

How can you nurture yourself in the next few days?

Something that would make my living space more nurturing is…

Our living spaces are an important part of our daily lives and comfort levels (yes, even if you don’t spend a bunch of time in yours). It is in these spaces where we largely rest and take care of our basic human needs — from hygiene to preparing our meals to paying bills. Creating a safe space where we stay can have a significant impact on our health as well, since a good environment can help us manage and navigate stress better. And a bad environment can, well, add a lot of stress too.

What are some ways you can make your living space more nurturing for you?

Something that would make Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks living space more nurturing is adding more plants and colorful art.

What relationship in your life do you nurture the most?

Here’s the truth: The relationships we have with others help us build community and connection with the world around us.

This is also the truth: Some relationships in our lives will naturally be closer than others and have different standards, but overall they each have their own level of significance to us and our needs. Those relationships can be with family and friends, coworkers, neighbors, teachers and classmates, or even our health care teams.

Out of the relationships in your life, which ones do you nurture the most? What does that nurturing look like?

Mighty staffer @sparklywartanks says she nurtures the relationships she has with her mother and sister the most.

TRUE or FALSE: I consider myself a nurturing person.

Monday means a fresh new topic to explore, and this week’s self-care theme is nurture 🌷.

How are we thinking about it exactly? At its most base form, to nurture means to care for or encourage the development of someone or something. This can be in regards to your relationships with family or friends, at work or school, while practicing hobbies, how you engage with strangers, or even how you treat and interact with yourself.

Do you consider yourself a nurturing person? Answer "true" or "false" below! ⬇️
